![]() She turned an old washer into a bed for flowers, and found no shame in standing that washing machine right in the middle of the front lawn. She grabbed my dad’s old cowboy boots out of the dumpster, filled them with soil, and hung them on the front of her home, with vibrant plants growing out of them. The woman who taught me that nothing is trash. I have several entries in my blog about my Grandma Cortes. Thank you for being a part of my life.Ĭheers to many more years to come! VIVA LA VIDA!! And especially those who protect, love, and stand up for the little girl in me. Those who can’t wait to see the woman I become. So if I can look back at this beautiful collection of years, and take inventory of these blessings, I have to say this my friends, THIS LIFE, HAS BEEN A LIFE WELL LIVED. And as the years go by, these are the type of people I want by my side. Trust me when I say that I don’t take that lightly. To know that everyone around me wanted nothing, expected nothing, and gained nothing from being in my life is so rare! My friendship, and sharing in the experience of another year of life was enough for them. My party was full of dreamers, fighters, doers, chefs, artists, musicians, and just straight up beautiful souls. Bravo! At least they got something right! ![]() When they choose to walk away and make excuses for their part in your life story, it’s like the trash took itself out. There is delicious freedom in losing negative, manipulative and selfish people from your life.
